The Australian Peace Prize is presented annually by the Peace Organisation of Australia to an Australian citizen or resident, or to a group based in Australia, for outstanding contributions towards peace.

Sen. Bob Brown (2009)
Senator Bob Brown is leader of the Australian Greens. He was awarded the Australian Peace Prize in 2009 "for his longstanding dedication to promoting non-violence, peace and global justice".

Rev. Tim Costello (2008)
Tim Costello is chief executive of World Vision Australia. He was awarded the Australian Peace Prize in 2008 "for his commitment to peace and justice, particularly his work on poverty alleviation and gun control".

Julian Burnside QC (2007)
Julian Burnside is a barrister and human rights advocate. He was awarded the Australian Peace Prize in 2007 "for his staunch opposition to mandatory detention and the Pacific Solution, and for doing all in his power to assist refugees fleeing war and persecution in their homelands".

Dr Helen Caldicott (2006)
Dr Helen Caldicott is a paediatrician and anti-nuclear campaigner. She was awarded the inaugural Australian Peace Prize in 2006 "for her longstanding commitment to raising awareness about the medical and environmental hazards of the nuclear age".
